ONE STEP AWAY..... FROM THE PRESENCE 

AND REST OF THE LORD.

Exodus 33: 1-14

REFLECTION:

Moses hears the Lord say “My presence will go with you and I will give you rest” Here is the ultimate presence of the Lord. This is the plan of God from the garden of Eden to the present day. The presence of God is the Sabbath rest. Where all things are SHALOM. There is no real rest outside the presence of God. No real Harmony, No real Community, No real Freedom. This rest is the substance of Heaven, this is the substance of the Kingdom, and the substance of the Kingdom is the substance and presence of the King. There can be no sin here, no unrighteousness, no flesh can abide in this atmosphere. It is heaven’s glory given to God’s own creation. It’s this rest that was lost and it’s this rest that God has set himself to restore. 

• All leads up to this and all feeds into this. 
• Presence and rest are to be a reality for the people of God. 
• Not just a dream, but a living reality. 
• Not just a hope but a present experience.
