ONE STEP AWAY.....
FROM THE GLORY OF THE LORD .
REFLECTION:
Moses asks for the unthinkable. “Show me your Glory” The Glory of God. The fullness of God’s presence. He is told that he could not see God and live. He is not alone in seeing the presence of the Lord. Isaiah in Isaiah 6, Elijah in 1 Kings 19 and others. 1600 years after Moses. Jesus, Peter and John see the Fullness of the Glory of God. Moses and Elijah, the men of the glory are invited to see the great and wonderful glory of God in Christ.
- John the Apostle in Revelation 1:1-18 writes of seeing the glory of God, this is a similar description of that in Daniel 10:4-7.
- Habakkuk describes the glory of God too – In Habbakkuk 2:14 “The Earth Shall Be filled with the knowledge of the glory of the Lord as the waters cover the sea”
- In Romans we hear Paul the apostle say in Romans 3:23 “For all have sinned and have fallen short of the Glory of God”
