ONE STEP AWAY..... FROM KNOWING GOD BY NAME.
Exodus 3:5-15
Moses encounters the God who has a name. If you’re on a first name basis with a person, this makes them more accessible and approachable. This is precisely why God has shared his personal name with Moses and us. (Vs 6) He gives Moses and us the freedom to draw close to him and call him by name.
- We can know God and call him by Name.
- God moves toward us, even when we feel like he should move farther away.
NEW TESTAMENT CROSS REFERENCES
- Salvation is through His name (John 1:12).
- Believers are to gather in His name (Matt. 18:20).
- Prayer is to be made in His name (John 14:13-14).
- The servant of the Lord who bears the name of Christ will be hated (Matt. 10:22).
- The book of Acts makes frequent mention of worship, service, and suffering in the name of Jesus Christ (Acts 4:18; 5:28, 41; 10:43; 19:17)
- It is at the name of Jesus that every knee will one day bow and every tongue confess that Jesus Christ is Lord (Phil. 2:10-11
